ACFA CONFERENCE 2007 - “Principles in Action”
ACFA CONFERENCE BOOKING –
Starting 5pm Monday 8th October 2007
Finishing 4-4.30 pm–Tuesday 9th October 2007

I am pleased to invite you to the ACFA conference to be held at Hothorpe Hall Christian Conference Centre. We have tried to locate a more central place to meet so that we could have more time to interact, especially over an evening stay with all of us in the same place. For those of you who have been to Hothorpe Hall, it is a great centre to go to for its surroundings and amenities. To enable as many as possible to attend, it would be particularly helpful to us for planning purposes if you could let us know ASAP if you are able to attend.
Please click here for the booking form.
- The conference will start at 5pm on Monday with an open forum to discuss the Aims and Goals of the Association. It is your chance to have a say on what you would like to see happen and where you would like to see the Association be in the future. This is a good opportunity for you to air your thoughts in a positive manner.
- Then we have a buffet dinner in the evening starting at 6.30pm with an evening speaker at 7.30pm. Our speaker is Alan Westall who is a Christian who built up a large Insurance brokerage and has just recently sold it. I have been reliability informed that he will be worth listening to. Thereafter we will be able to chill out and catch up with each other for the rest of the evening.
- The following morning sessions will be looking at how to apply the Biblical principles adhered to by ACFA in both the workplace and church life. There will be practical examples of the biblical “principles in action” and when applied how much difference it can make to peoples lives. Also talk through the processes involved when dealing with Christians and non-Christians.
- The second session will be focusing on ‘Faith in the work place’. Do any of the principles change the way we work or run a business? There will be a time for sharing testimonies of what God has done in the work place to encourage us. He is interested and wants us to make a difference in the market place.
- The afternoon session will be focusing on core subjects to be debated in small groups. We will have people discussing the Ethical/Non-ethical investment dilemma and the associated issues around this. Also we will have debate on the issue of Debt: What is acceptable and how can we help those in our church and clients we come into contact with? We may even have a speaker from a Christian debt advice centre to help us understand the problems that some people are facing and how we can prevent this happening.
There will be the normal issues of the association during the day and you will receive a more detailed programme once everything has been confirmed.
I hope you will be able to attend and would appreciate a speedy reply. This is our association and we need each other to make this event worthwhile. We do understand that time is precious but we feel it would be far more valuable to have an overnight stay all in the same place.
