Bi–Monthly Update January – February 2010

Dear Member,

Welcome to the latest e-update from ACFA which will be bi-monthly from now on.

January and February have been busy months for the Committee and the Ambassador with many of the initiatives begun in 2009 being taken forward as a priority.

  1. Communication and Website
Social networking: Work has begun on setting up an ACFA presence on the main social networking sites: Twitter, Facebook and Linked-in. This is intended to drive more traffic to the ACFA Site as well as reach new audiences, raise our profile and spread the word about the Biblical Principles of Financial Planning (BPFP).

BPFP Case Studies: As mentioned in the recent Chairman's Newsletter, the second BPFP Case Study is now on the Member's Forum of the website. Please do contribute your solutions to Mark's planning conundrum, as many of you did so successfully at the Conference in November.

Public Forum: A Public Forum, rather like the Members' Forum, has now been set up on the website. Some of the testimonials posted on the Members' Forum will be transferred over to the Public Forum to show how scripturally based financial planning can make a huge impact on people's lives. We would like more, so please feel free to add some. Alternatively, make comments on those that have already been posted.

Advertise here! You may also have noticed the new click button for would be advertisers on the website. All members are welcome to advertise and receive a 15% discount. Do look at the website to find out more.
  2. Membership
Three new members have joined ACFA so far this year. They are:
Yemi Obabori of Daniel Ford Mortgage Advice in London,
Karl Ayling of Calver Groom Financial Management in Wallington, and
Stephen Bloomfield of XL Independent Financial Advisers in Needham Market.

Some of you met Yemi and Karl at the ACFA Conference in November. I am sure you will join me in extending Yemi, Karl and Stephen a warm welcome to ACFA.

Membership Certificates: All fully current ACFA members will be receiving membership certificates and copies of the BPFP leaflets for advisers and clients during the coming month.
  3. Marketing and PR
Woman Alive magazine’s March issue features an excellent double page article by our very own Jon Cobb (of Trinity Wealth Management) entitled ‘Do your finances help or hinder God’s purpose for your life?’. We hope to post the article on the ACFA website in due course. Meanwhile do try to get hold of a copy of the magazine and read the article.
  4. Conference
The theme for the 2010 ACFA conference will be announced during March. The dates for the conference are Tuesday 16th to Wednesday 17th November. Please put these dates straight into your diary!

After three very successful years at Hothorpe Hall, the general consensus from your feedback after the 2009 conference was that the time was right for a change of location. Therefore the venue for the 2010 conference will be High Leigh Christian Conference Centre in Hertfordshire. This venue has been chosen for its accessibility by road, rail and air. More information will follow as the year unfolds.

Do feel free to email me with any questions or comments you may have about the ongoing work of ACFA.

Every blessing,

Angela.
