ACFA News - Chairman's Newsletter

Dear Member/Friend,

This is the first e-update about what is going on in relation to ACFA. These shorter and more regular e-updates will replace the traditional Chairman’s Newsletters.

ACFA Website
As you should all now know, the new ACFA website went live on 20 July. Feedback has been very positive and Members have made some constructive comments, in particular about the search facility. We are working to continually improve the site. It seems that the new website has made some of you look more closely at the content and functioning of our online communication channel. For those of you who are still unaware, the address is still – www.christianfinancialadvisers.org.uk – and the password for the Members Area is also unchanged.

On the new site you will also see the first of a series of eight articles on the biblical Principles of Money Management. The article is entitled ‘God Owns It All’ and focuses on the first biblical principle ‘Ownership’. The second article will look at principle number two, ‘Integrity’, and will be posted on the Site and circulated to members in September.

Conference 2009
The 2009 ACFA Conference will be upon us before we know it. Please put the date in your diary if you have not already done so: 18 & 19 November at Hothorpe Hall in Leicestershire. You can now view the full agenda and biographies of all the speakers on the ACFA website. Expect a specific Conference e-mail during August which will include conference/accommodation booking forms and fees information.

Mission opportunity with YWAM Thailand
We have been contacted by RobWiebe, a Canadian serving overseas as a Christian missionary leading a community of missionaries from Youth With A Mission (YWAM). They are running two training schools, discipling people from all over the world and sending them out into South East Asia. They are located in the beautiful province of Chiang Rai, Thailand. Each one of them has raised his/her own support to be there and they are looking for God to call someone to help them with their accounting. Would you know someone who is willing to give a year or more of their life to go and serve in this way, bringing financial alignment to the plans of God in their mission? Would you yourself be willing? They use the Quicken system of accounting and would need that kept up to date and also improved in any way possible. The accountant would need to raise at least $300US of monthly support to cover his/her basic necessities of life in Chiang Rai. New Members
It would be great if each of you could recommend another Christian advisor for possible membership of ACFA so we can increase our numbers. If you could direct them to the new web site or let me have their name and contact details, I will send out the relevant information to them.
